WOMAN IS ART – FEMININITY
by
WOMAN IS ART is an inclusive explosive celebration held on the international women´s day at the Hotel ME Reina Victoria in collaboration with the Magaine Neo 2.
The celebrated phrase “behind each great artist, is a great woman”. Traditionally, this phrase referred to the woman as the role of a muse or as emotional support…or in the best case scenario as a patroness. This went on even during the avant-garde eras, and as far along as the women´s lib revolution in the 70´s. Profound changes are never quick. There are more and more women taing a stance in the art world, where all sorts of lobbies have always held their own.
FEMININITY speaks, precisely, about that, about the evolution of women within the art world, of becoming an active rather than a passive player in this realm.
