Sergio Aguado
Sergio Aguado is an illustrator and animator from Elda, Alicante. He spent his entire childhood surrounded by art supplies, as his family owned a book and art supply shop. He studied advertising and public relations because he was looking to complement his personal skills with professional techniques. It was in a contest (L’OrĂ©al Brandstorm) while he was still a student, where he first came into contact with animation. Autodidact in motion graphics to explain the whole project in a video summary. It was love at first sight with animation.
Sergio Aguado started working in a startup in London as a creative director developing all kinds of tasks such as Branding, UX/UI and animation. After a while he realised that animation was what fulfilled him the most, so he started working in several agencies in Madrid as Motion Graphics Designer, generating content for social networks and advertising campaigns. Among the agencies he collaborated with were We Are Social, Cheil and The Cocktail. At the same time he learned to animate the traditional way, frame by frame.
Having worked as a freelancer sporadically for some clients, Sergio Aguado decided to venture to offer his services as a full-time freelancer. He now works on projects of all kinds, such as music videos, editorial, advertising and television programs. He enjoys telling stories through animation, especially for start-ups.
Sergio, a pop culture and naif art lover, defines his style as direct, cheerful and minimalist. He likes to add a layer of craftsmanship to his pieces with textures and grain, which makes his work more recognizable and “real”. With total dedication to detail he attempts at perfection with each animation, hoping to offer a unique and personalized product. Humor is a very important part of his work so whenever he can, he tries to create funny scenes with a touch of wit.
Among his projects we can find a diverse range of clients such as AtresMedia, KFC, Lexus, Netflix, Banco Santander, Warner and newspapers like The Washington Post.
