Mr.Kat & Friends

Mr.Kat & Friends is a character driven world created by Jaime Álvarez Sobreviela. His cute and classy designs are intended to communicate tenderness, playfulness and happiness. If you like shiny, polished, 3d stylized designs then we think you landed in the right spot!

We are introduced to this universe by Mr. Kat, a black and white curious feline that loves to sleep and play. This bold feline is inspired by Jaime’s first cat, rescued when he was 4 months old. Two other adopted cats came along in the following years and also appear in Jaime’s creations: Vanilla and Wapi.

Jaime’s creations tend to have a sculptural, rounded shape and glossy look. “Kawaii designs have a great power of communication. They are synthesized and universal expressions combined with extreme tenderness that transport kids as much as adults, ” he adds. His designs are especially sensorial, with characters that seem to express the feeling the viewer wants according to her or his emotional state.

Mr. Kat’s closest friends are the fluffy cat Vanilla and mystic Cosmic Panda. Evolving around and beyond these three you will find all kinds of charming creations such as an unstoppable heart struck by an arrow, a flock of little yellow birds, a majestic marshmallow lion and many more!

What started as a personal project has hatched into an international endeavor having worked for clients such as Apple, McCann, Movistar, Kiwi Inc or Third Company and exposed in festivals Jaime adores: OFFF Barcelona, Pictoplasma Berlin + NYC, CutOutFest Mexico, BID Madrid and soon Us by Night! Mr. Kat & Friends has also been featured in Vice, Stash, Shots, It’s Nice That, We Heart and Belio to name a few.
