Lola Guerrera, born in 1982 in Córdoba, Spain. She has a degree in Audiovisual Communications from the University of Malaga, and an MA in Photography from the EFTI. She develops her artistic career in areas of design and arts, mixing photography with ephemeral sculpture. Her national and international exhibits in galleries and public spaces, and her collaboration with international brands of art directing and scenography are some other highlights of her artistic career.
Lola Guerrera seeks to create expressive images laden with symbolism. Her work is based on investigating the ephemeral, and the sculptural possibilities of the variety of elements that she uses. Thus creating ephemeral sculpture out of paper, thread, gun powder or other natural elements she finds in the city…sculptures that exist solely for the snapshot. Guerrera comes from a television and advertising background, fields which enables her to develop and investigate through a highly cultivated concept of visual aesthetics. Generating a comparison between the ephemeral in aesthetics and the ephemeral of its consumption. This translates into the flight of birds, clouds of smoke and impeccable spaces…
She has participated in numerous individual and collective exhibits in Spain, England, Portugal, France, Guatemala and Mexico. She has received various national and international awards.
Her photographs have been acquired by private institutions, such as the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Malaga and the Centro Nacional de las Artes de Mexico.
Lola Guerrera´s work has been published in renowned magazines such as WALLPAPER, RÉPONSES PHOTO, and BLINK.
