Gregori Saavedra

Gregori Saavedra was born in Viladecans in 1968. He studied Information Science and Journalism in Barcelona and graduated in 1992. Gregori worked during ten years in advertising, first as editor and later as creative director. In 2003 he decided to leave the world of the agencies and establish himself on his own to dedicate himself fully to illustration and direction. Since 2010, he lives and works in the city of London.

Gregori´s illustrations are based mainly on a very personal reinterpretation of the collage. They invite to visit them several times in order to perceive all the details, a characterize of his pieces.

Gregori has been awarded on numerous occasions: as a video artist, by the MTV network in 2005 for his MTV Reload project; also in RESFEST and Webcuts Berlin as one of the 10 best new directors; Gregori was also awarded as best director in 2006, at the By-Designers. Finally, in 2018, his SHUSH mural has been a finalist in the World Illustration Awards.
His pieces for the experimental music band The Books are part of the Austin Digital Art Museum collection. His personal work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in numerous cities around the world. The most recent has been grEGOri, a collection of 15 self-portraits that explore corners.

Gregori Saavedra has worked for such famous clients as The British Library, Mini Cooper, Bankia, BMW and El País, among others. His works has been published in high profile publications such as IdN, Dpi, Dazed & Condused, Le Monde, Esquire or Internazionale.
