Carmen García Huerta

Carmen García Huerta has been living and drawing in Madrid all her life. In the her years of juvenile confusion, she graduated from the Universidad Complutense  in Information Sciences. That time she flirted with graphic design but fortunately she returned to drawing. This task that in her childhood she hasn’t taken seriously and should’ve  never  interrupted.

She settled down and dedicated herself to illustration; in fashion, advertising and branding. In constant evolution both in style and technique for more than 15 years.

She uses digital tools such as Illustrator and other traditional tools such as graphite and colored pencils. Carmen García Huerta has employed her skills in a wide variety of areas. For example editorial portrait, trends, advertising campaigns, institutional projects. She also dedicates herself to live drawing at events, tableware design, art exhibitions and teaching.

Carmen García Huerta has had the honor of appearing in several books of the Illustration series Now! by TASCHEN.

In 2014 the German publishing house included her in the compilation of the 100 best illustrators in the world according to their criteria, ‘100 Illustrators’. And repeat in the new edition of 2019.

She has exhibited in various places around the world, such as Paris, Shanghai, Sao Paulo, Barcelona, ​​Madrid and Tel Aviv.

Otherwise, she has participated in multiple conferences and masterclasses in universities and design schools (ESNE, IED, EASDALCOY, CAELVM, TRAZOS, etc) and in 2017 she taught the Fashion Illustration in the program Design and Fashion Management at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.
